The New Forest Trust was founded in 2003 with one simple aim – to secure the future of the New Forest.

Their charitable aims include:

Promoting the conservation, protection, and improvement of the New Forest. \n- Supporting the conservation and protection of commoning livestock, deer, and other flora and fauna of the New Forest. Enhancing public education and understanding of commoning, wildlife, and the environment of the New Forest. 

Financial support is secured locally through donations, as well as from the millions of people who visit the New Forest each year through the Love the Forest scheme.

Funds raised are used to support projects that align with the Trust’s charitable aims. Some of these projects are delivered directly by the Trust, while others are carried out by local organisations through the Love the Forest grant scheme.

The Trust has already funded many vital projects, but continued support is essential to achieve more. Without ongoing contributions, the wildlife, unique landscape, and community of the New Forest remain at risk. The New Forest is a truly special place, and the Trust is committed to preserving it for future generations.
